Judging Experience
Ron is one of the highest regarded judges in the IFBB community, he started judging after his career on stage ended in the 1980s. In 1987 he became a CBBF National Judge and one year later earned his IFBB Pro League card as a judge.His judging career has taking him all over the world including Mexico, Europe and the Middle East. Every year he makes it out to his two favorite shows to judge the Olympia and the Arnold Classic You will likely catch Ron sitting at the judges panel either as a judge or head judge at any give show.
Competitive Experience
Ron entered his first competition in 1976 in Sault Ste. Marie and won his first championship in Sudbury in 1978 – “The Mr. Sudbury” and in 1980 won “The Mr. Northern Ontario” title. He retired from the bodybuilding stage in the 1980s.
Training Experience
1994 to 2010, Ron owned a The Gym Fitness Centre in Sudbury. This establishement is a landmark in Sudbury for those interested in persuing the bodybuilding stage. It is a hard-core gym, it offered a warm environment that attracted those seeking a healthier lifestyle. He trained many members over the years, offered his training and nutrition advice freely, always understanding that the journey bodybuilding was different for each athlete. In 2014, Ron sold the The Gym Fitness Centre to his longstanding employee Troy Thompson.
Promoting Experience
Ron began promoting bodybuilding shows in the late-1970s along with his wife Angie. The promoted the Sudbury Championships for over 20 years, before handing it off to fellow bodybuilder Keiran Foley. Though he took a few years off from promoting in the 2000, in 2010 along with his daughter Carla and close friend Jim Morris started the Toronto Pro SuperShow. The Toronto Pro SuperShow is now the must go to bodybuilding event in Canada. This event hosts an IFBB Qualifer Event and an IFBB Pro Championships as well as a huge EXPO.

Ron became involved in the fitness industry in 1972 as a personal trainer at Vic Tanny’s Fitness Centre where he trained to compete as a bodybuilder.  In 1997, he became President of Bodybuilding Ontario which changed its name to The Ontario Physique Association when the Fitness category was introduced.

Ron is very passionate and committed to the fitness industry and the lifestyle opportunities and challenges it offers.

Ron is the president of the Canadian Physique Alliance.  He has been involve in all aspects of the sport from competitor, judge and promoter over his 45+ year dedicated career.
