Winston Roberts 1939 – 2017
On December 21, 2017 we lost a friend, an icon and a premiere ambassador of our sport.  These are just some of the words describing Winston Roberts.  There will be accolades from around the world of Winston’s contribution to the sport of bodybuilding and fitness. In the early years he rose to the top of the IFBB Executive as General Secretary to the founder of the IFBB--Ben Weider. During those years he worked diligently and gave his time selflessly to help grow the sport to what we enjoy today.
For those of us who knew Winston we all recognize the one common attribute, his respect of people, regardless of who you were, the color of your skin, your involvement in the sport from a fan, a volunteer, a first-time competitor to a senior official, Winston would listen and engage in a conversation that usually left you with a renewed sense of knowledge of our sport or a reassurance to continue working towards your goals. He was generous with his time to a fault willing to share his knowledge as a competitor, IFBB Executive, IFBB Pro Judge, trainer, promoter, and historian of the sport.
